Sometimes I think I live under a rock. I’m going into my third year of blogging and this is the first I’ve heard of the Once Upon a Time Challenge. How have I missed this? I sure hope the rock I’m living under is comfy, ’cause apparently I spend a lot of time there!
The Once Upon a Time Challenge is hosted by one of the best challenge hosts out there, Carl at Stainless Steel Droppings. Like the R.I.P. Challenge, there are several participation options so even the busiest of readers can partake in the event. The challenge lasts until June 19 (good news for me since I’m joining a month into the challenge). I’m going to participate at the “Journey” level, which basically means I’m participating without committing myself to a specific number of books. Perfect!
So what, exactly, am I signing up for? In Carl’s own words:
“This is a reading and viewing event that encompasses four broad categories: Fairy Tale, Folklore, Fantasy and Mythology, including the seemingly countless sub-genres and blending of genres that fall within this spectrum. The challenge continues through Tuesday, June 19th and allows for very minor (1 book only) participation as well as more immersion depending on your reading/viewing whims.”
Yep, folks, that’s three months dedicated to fairy tales and more. Life is grand.
Anyone else joining in the fun? What are you reading? What do you think I should read?
